Just a recommendation – please do not show update nags to users who don’t have the ‘update plugin’ capability.

My clients keep contacting me as they’re not used to seeing such notices.

    Thank you!

    Hi there,
For versions of MonsterInsights 7.0 and above the permissions should be:
    – If it’s an update to the plugin, WordPress only shows those who can update plugins.
    – If it’s a notice about our settings, like reauthentication, we only show those to user roles with the ability to see the admin settings panel for monsterinsights, which uses the monsterinsights_save_settings capability, which by default is limited to admins with manage_options.
    – If it’s a notification about new versions, those are only shown to super administrators, which are admins on single sites, and network admins on multisite

Note, we had a bug that allowed some of those to get showed to lower roles but those were fixed in later releases.

    Great – thanks Chris!

Haven’t yet upgraded to 7.0 but I look forward to the updated permissions.
