please don’t tell me i am a dummy!

  • i do have two wordpress sites, one free @ wordpress.com and one hosted at dreamhost. i just started this blogging business recently. i was really glad that wordpress was installed unto my dreamhost site without a hitch, and i did post one message. now i can’t get to either one of my blogs, i am getting wrong user id and/or wrong password. i probably don’t remember what userid and/or password i used. where do i go from here? the hosting tech support at dreamhot told me via email not to bother them with ‘wordpress’ related question. please help. darn it! i should have known better, i should have written down the user id and the passwords for each blog. but tomorrow is another day…won’t make that mistake again.

    where do i go from here?

    any ideas will be graciously accepted.

  • Normally, when you setup the admin account, it emails you with the login and password. Have you checked that email account?

    Also, there should be a ‘lost pasword’ option when you try to login. You can enter the username and email (the first username created is ‘admin’)

    thank you so much, i will now go looking at my emails. if all else fails, i may be back here again seeking direction on how to get back my user ids and my password.
