• Hi guys, we love your template but it has reached a point where we please ask you to care about coding with speed in mind.

Please can you fix Scripts & Styles admin area, is completely broken. If you disable something it breaks the style mostly in blog grid and pagination. It doesnt even tell you what styles you are using and many CSS and JS depend on each other. This forces users to enable all. We spent days checking it and even a developer did concluding that it was a deprecated area.

Guys please stop ignoring the multiple posts on speed issues. We use a super fast host, Cloudfare and Litespeed, the fastest plugin for cache and we have pages of text taking 4 secs to load.

All our sites are marked as slow in Google Search Console. A clean installation of Oceanp gives really bad score.

Please at least fix that section so people are able to reduce charge times. There are tons of posts here asking you for the same, mostly with no reply,

If you guys dont pay attention to this problem OceanWp will reach a point where it will harm websie owners. Your direct competitors speed load time is half.

    Regards

  • I don’t think they will answer you Manu, i posted a simple question 9days ago, nobody anwser me, i have to figure out the way myself.
Look up and down the pages in this supporting forum, there’re hundreds of questions not anwsered!
OceanWp pushed two updating patches within one single day, i was confused that time because it mostly means the previous patch has big problem, but i choose to trust OceanWp team..
I upgraded the theme twice and have many problems come… One of my tag page is error to crawl by google for one week and mobile device loading extremely slow, it was 2-3 seconds before, now it takes over 10 seconds!
When i come to this supporting forum, i was socked, so many unsolved topics!
Check out Astra and GeneratePress, they don’t have these problems at all…
OceanWp is the most powerful theme i ever used, however their support to free users is not the best, for these reasons i cancelled many times when i was hesitating to purchase the pro version.

    Hello @manuxx34,

Unfortunately, we can remove this Ocean Extra feature because it will cause issues to users who use this option. Also, either it breaks the website or it’s a deprecated area, can’t be both.

Sadly, we can’t make this option compatible with all optimization plugins, and since most themes don’t have it, if it creates issues for you in combination with your optimization plugin and its settings – don’t use it.

Main problem we’re facing is that we can’t replicate the issues reported even in combination with some of the optimization plugins, so it’s not only OceanWP or Ocean Extra related. What we can tell you is not to use the inline CSS and JS options.

And with all due respect, website speed does not depend on the theme (so technically it’s not a theme issue) or hosting alone, or optimization plugins, but with the optimized settings for everything including best website building practices. Most of our users achieve outstanding page speed results, even with free optimization plugins, high-traffic and extensive content websites included. In fact, you can achieve the same or better results with OceanWP compared to other themes with less features. But again, it all depends on multiple factors.

Google Page Speed even marks its own page as slow, you can try it.

You can also check this older topic on the speed about.

As for us, we will do everything we can to resolve anything related to OceanWP or Ocean plugins. But first, we need to be able to replicate the issue reported, which I’m sure you can understand. And you can help with that with providing all necessary info.

If you’re having issues even with a clean installation, then you should check your hosting. I’m running localhost installations on a 2006 old PC with 4GB of RAM and horrific CPU speed, and still don’t experience the issues reported (have in mind it’s also packed with all kinds of software). But then again, I don’t have 100+ websites running on it, which is what shared hosting represents.

Hope this helps. Best of luck with your website

    Hello @shinnmoon,

Unfortunately, 90% users don’t mark resolved topics as resolved, so that really doesn’t paint a clear picture.

If you’re having crawl issues, it’s either Google Search Console or your SEO plugin related, but not theme.

For website speed, please read my previous reply.

And we do want to provide absolutely all OceanWP users with support to OceanWP related matter, but that’s not always possible on a daily basis as explained here in the forum introduction.

And you are correct, clients do have priority because they are the ones keeping all projects running for everyone (not just OceanWP), which I’m sure you can understand even if you don’t agree with that.

Hope this helps. Best of luck with your website

Marko the issues happens in websites with no optimization at all enabled, removing fontawesome.css fir instance does not work and it conflicts with litespeed cache and wp fastest cache too.

As for speed I appreciate your answer but blaming the host doesnt work. Specially when our host is an awward winner for speed used with litespeed cache and clouddare. We use your template in 3 other sites with different host and same results.

The amount of CSS and requests OceanWP does to a server is massive. Marko installing GeneratePress reduces by half our speed load time, page size… and the queries massively.

What really worries us now is that with weekly complains about speed on this forum by different users you guys are in denial or blame hosts.

I guess we can‘t expect your devs working in improving speed and optimization of the core OceanWP at all no?
