• In a last year and a half I have tried to submit my own theme for twice. First time I have waited for 6 months to even start conversation with theme reviewers, meanwhile after so many months of waiting I dropped it. Now I have tried again to submit my own theme … it’s been a month and still it is “new”. I see there are many. many others that wait more than 4 months …
It is obvious that it became almost impossible for many, many of us to even start a conversations, not to mention finishing a process of submitting.
REALLY, I am not complaining or god forbid blaming you about anything … It’s just the fact there are so many People who want to submit themes, it is impossible for you to deal with it.

Please at least can someone provide to us an advises or directions about possible alternate ways to promote our Free WordPress Themes?

    Greetings!

  • Unfortunately everyone is doing voluntary work, So you can’t actually blame anyone. If you’re think there’s a long queue you should hop in and do some theme review that would quicken the process for everyone. I know how frustrating it is wait for 3/4 month to start the review process. If we had couple of more plugins to automate the theme review process that would cut down review time significantly. However it is encouraged that you should join the these gitHub issues – https://github.com/Otto42/theme-check/issues

I don’t blame anyone, who am I to blame?!
I am passionate WP Fan, I make my living using and developing WordPress, I also have a few Plugins hosted here …just, I would like to have at least one of my Themes hosted on WP Repository … Feel like I’m missing something, being a WordPress Developer, without at least one theme here.

Hope in future there will be found some more suitable solution.

    Second that.

Solution: More people should join the review theme.

Obviously you wouldn’t approve your own themes, conflict of interest.

“Obviously you wouldn’t approve your own themes, conflict of interest.”

    I really don’t understand this statement…
I wasn’t complaining at all in a first place, especially not about is my Theme is going to be approved or not. My Theme didn’t have a chains not to be Approved …

Freelancer.com or Upwork have an excellent WordPress tests. Maybe new submitters should pass first such test. That would reduce seriously a number of potential submitters … or something like that. There is always a solution to anything, but question is do you need a solution …
