• Hi everyone – total wordpress newbie here so sorry if anything is vague…

My very new site (https://www.loveandnoodles.com/) seems to be loading and running pretty fast, but when I get on wp-admin and start trying to do anything, it is SO slow. Particularly media uploads is very slow – I can’t even upload any pictures bc it times out.

I have deleted all but the plugins I really want and am using W3 Cache. Any advice??

    THANK you!

  • What type of hosting do you have? Can you reinstall WordPress to see if this helps anything? Can you revert to the 2015 default theme to see if this fixes anything?
You should clear your browser history. What browser are you using? Are you getting any errors?

Thank you tech55541! I will definitely clear browser history on both Chrome and Safari — that’s what I’ve been using. No errors are popping up, just PAINfully slow.

I guess I could contact hosting – I use GoDaddy – but wouldn’t that be affecting the actual lovandnoodles.com too? Loading that is pretty quick! It is just working in wordpress that is slow.

If i revert to the 2015 default theme won’t that mess up the set up of my site? (Again sorry total newbie – sorry for the questions!)

update here – i cleared browser history and then also made one change to the settings of W3 Total Cache plugin. That definitely helped with making admin faster overall!

However, media uploads are still an issue – now they not working at all and saying HTTP error ?? any advice?

    Have you noticed?

Your non-www version of your website is not working. Try this to fix that

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^yourdomain.com [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]

What error are you getting when you try to upload your media?

Dheeraj – I had no idea!! Thanks so so much! I will definitely add, where exactly should I add that for it to work ??

The error just says “http error” in red at top of page

I believe that goes in your .htaccess file.
