• Hi there- I have been pulling my hair out with this issue, and have had no luck at all. I really hope someone out there has the answer…

    Here’s the story:
I just installed WordPress on my own server at work. I installed PHP and MySql by the book. When I ran the install it worked, but they would not allow me to login at the front page. Once I left that screen, anytime I come back in I get an error. I cannot view anything at:
    https://www.wmfmeyer.com/blog/

Or any other sub-page for that matter… Here’s the error I am getting:

You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this directory or page due to the access control list (ACL) that is configured for this resource on the Web server.
    ——————————————————————————–

    Please try the following:

Contact the Web site administrator if you believe you should be able to view this directory or page.
Click the Refresh button to try again with different credentials.
HTTP Error 401.3 – Unauthorized: Access is denied due to an ACL set on the requested resource.
    Internet Information Services (IIS)

    ——————————————————————————–

    Technical Information (for support personnel)

Go to Microsoft Product Support Services and perform a title search for the words HTTP and 401.
Open IIS Help, which is accessible in IIS Manager (inetmgr), and search for topics titled About Security, Access Control, and About Custom Error Messages.

Now, I have googled everywhere, tried many different “fixes” and NOTHING WORKS. There must be someone out there who knows what this is and how to fix it. I am pretty sure I am just missing something in IIS- but what????

Thanks a lot of reading- please HELP~!!!!!

  • that looks like something set up outside of wordpress. Have you accidentally or otherwise password protected your site or a folder?

Nope, nothing is password protected in the folder. I have tried giving additional permissions to solve the problem, but to no avail.

    I am so stuck!

Got it- needed to add read/excute to c:/php for iusr_####

And totally awesome! Now I have the dreaded Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.

Once again, I have spent hours going through google and making changes. NOTHING works. I am so irritated with this install.
