PLEASE HELP!!, desparate need of help. :-( WILLING TO PAY FOR QUICK HELP!

    I was installing a new test wordpress blog on my dreamhost account. And now when i go to my blog: http:://www.hahmed.com/blog it gives the message: It doesn’t look like you’ve installed WP yet. Try running install.php..

    I didnt touch the original blog folder at all. I even made a new SQL database for the new blog. I didnt touch the old data base files at all either. What is wrong? Can any1 please help me recover my site or figure out what i need to do. Moreover, if any1 wants to help recover it and upgrade wordpress for me (i can give them the password) i would greatly appreciate that too. Heck Id be even willing to pay some1 if u could take care of this ASAP as ive worked very hard on my blog over the past year+ and would like it all back asap.

  • rename the wp-config.php in the new installation to ‘wp-config.phpback’ and see what happens.

    I hope you made backups before you did all this!

    i deleted the new installation entirely, so i cant do that…

    i do have all my old files and databases untouched, and backed up!

    If you could explain in detail exactly what you did, hahmed, that would help.

    Is your current WordPress DB okay, or did something happen when you installed the new instance (i.e. did you obliterate the old DB) ?

    Okay, i was hesitant to upgrade my site because i didnt want to lose all my data. (Im not very computer savy at all).

    So i logged into my dreamhost account and installed a new blog at https://www.hahmed.com/testblog with a new sql database too.

    When i did that -> it gave me some installation error

    so i said screw it, and deleted the new blog (testblog) from a ftp client, and the new database as well

    i never touched any old databases or anything in the hahmed.com/blog directory. both should be in tact

    however now when i got to hahmed.com/blog all i get is:

    It doesn’t look like you’ve installed WP yet. Try running install.php.

    Now i really dont want to risk losing any of my info and data, what can i do to recover my old site.

    Have you tried your backups yet? In particular the database backup.
