Default archive.php Please help, Grid View

  • If anybody could help me to make all posts on an archive/category page display as grid view I would be very appreciative. I am not trying to switch themes and have tried multiple plugins to get the desired effect to no avail. I have a dynamic search and filter on my page so I just need to know the best practices for generating a grid view. I am guessing I have to setup divs somewhere near the while (have_posts) but am unsure as to the best way.

    I know someone out there has a good idea of what to do without having to purchase a $100 plugin. I just dont know the BEST way to do it.
