Please help! How do I go back to editing my WP installation after I’ve erroneously changed the root folder from a sub-folder of the domain (i.e., https://mydomain.com/subfolder) to the root of the site (i.e., https://mydomain.com/)?
I changed it by going to the General Settings and changing the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) input fields and removing the sub-folders in both, then saving the changes. I was following the instructions in this page (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory) when everything went wrong.
After that, I cannot anymore view the site in https://mydomain.com/subfolder, while nothing changed with what’s on https://mydomain.com.
My original intention is to change the root of my test site from a sub-folder to the root, i.e., make the site go live.
I want to get back to the original installation as I wasn’t able to download first an .sql file backup of the database, where all the data of every page resides.. :((((
Help me please.. I’m desperate… :(((
