please help: how to add banner to top of this theme?

  • Hi. I’m using a free theme that you can customize, but I’m not very good at it. I want to add a long, thin-ish banner across the top (about 75px or 100 depending how big I can get away with). I can’t seem to find a plugin that can get it to place it above the heading writing on my theme and I have no idea how to override it. Everything I try just ends up with it overlapping the writing. I want the banner right up along the very top. Please, does anyone know how to accomplish this? The style sheet and a link to the page for reference is below. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
