    Hello

Can someone please help me? I feel as though someone has compromised my blog. Everyday something is going wrong with my blog. I set a custom permalink setup then none of my posts loaded. There is something wrong with all my image captions …they were fine yesterday. My stats are way off …too high. Can a moderator go into my blog to see if someone is tampering with my blog? If you email me I can give you my username and password. email jromano1958@gmail[.]com
something looks very suspicious in my stats too. I mean I could be totally wrong, but it seems everyday something is going wrong with my blog. I can’t even do any writing for my blog because I’m always trying to repair what’s wrong.
I don’t know what’s going on …I’m not so new to wordpress that I’m not able to understand how to use the wp software.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I setup custom permalinks, does it mean I have to go and change all my posts from the previous permalink to the new settings?
Something is going on with my image captions.
My stats say I have 446 hits ….when I know that’s not true.
Man I wish I knew what is going on.

It doesn’t sound like you’ve been compromised, you just seem to be encountering a lot of problems that aren’t really related to one another and could be caused be caused by either plugin conflicts, theme function conflicts, or corrupt core files.

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to rule-out a theme-specific issue.

If neither of those help, try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

I’d be willing to look around your blog for you, but I’d have to charge for time.

If you’d rather check for suspicious code yourself, install and run this plugin:

    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/exploit-scanner/

As always, if you feel that you don’t have much to lose, reinstalling everything could certainly be a solution.

Thank you ….You have me on the right track …the images are no longer showing the size and other related info to the images. I apologize for over reacting Mac, but it seems like something is failing daily. I deactivated all plugins as I said the first good sign is my images have been corrected.

Excellent, now just reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

Don’t worry, I think we’ve all been where you are. Just attribute all of this to growing pains. ??

Thanks so much, you’ve been very kind. I tracked it down to the ‘my live signature’ plugin. For some reason it was affecting my images that appear on the excerpts and in my posts(does that make sense?)

I don’t mind the learning experience. I didn’t give thought to conflicts with plugins. I’m always up for learning and challenges.
Once I get everything straight I might actually get to do some blogging ??

That doesn’t concern me as much because I think it’s just as valuable to open the hood and get your hands dirty. That’s the attitude I had when learning to use Linux.
I really appreciate your patience Mac …thanks again!
