Please help – my web address just keeps pointing to bluehost?

I wanted to create a simple site to show a portfolio of my illustration work. So I register my site name with bluehost, then follow the steps in bluehost to install word press. 1st time i’d done it.

Great all seems to go ok, I can access my dashboard, add pages etc, add new blogs. Seems easy enough to play around with and I want to get some cool personal themes etc going at some point.

I can view my pages from within the dashboard and it shows me how they look as a proper web page.

However, whenever I type my site address “www.matesdesign.com” into my browser. It brings up my url but it doesn’t show any of my pages, it just shows the bluehost banner, an add and then a ‘welcome to matesdesign.com’ msg?

What have I done wrong? Do I need to set up a new home page or something?

I’ve read plenty of help topics but think i’m now at the point where i’m confusing myself even more.

I’ve even followed the bluehost tutorial to allow me to use filezille as my ftp program, it all logs in fine etc and says i’m connected, but i’m not sure what to do from there or if I even need it at the mo.
