• Think im using 3.5 or 3.5.1 but on https://www.myclubbingholiday.com i get this message when i try to go onto it…
    Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access / on this server.

    Apache/2 Server at https://www.myclubbingholiday.com Port 80

Yet I have not changed anything on it and analytics tells me people were going onto it as little has half an hour ago – is there any reason for this 403 forbidden (what it says when i try it from i.e.) when I have changed nothing and it was fine half an hour ago?

I checked my other websites with the same host and they are up and running

I Checked the public html permission which was 711 with no 755 inside is this normal? Sorry I am a novice in these matters

  • I think you’ll need to speak to your hosts about this. It could be an issue on the server.

thank you Esmi, I really have no clue and rely on this for a large part of my business! not heard from them back yet but hoping they will be able to resolve it… as said I gave not changed anything but if the public access is 711 and the files inside it i.e. wordpress content is 755 i have no idea if this is why I get the message (and all visitors to the website) or if it is some other reason.

    Very confused!

    Thanks again

I’ve not come across a public_html folder with 711 permissions before but that doesn’t mean that it’s not correct for your server/host. I certainly wouldn’t change it until you’ve heard back from them.
