Please help! The Plugin ruined my Page Speed!

    Dear Smush,

    I wanted to optimize all of my images to optimize my page speed.
    Gtmetrix told me a page speed of 81%.

    I optimized all the images with Smush and now my Page speed decreased to 18%!

    The reasons of gtmetrix are:
    Serve scaled images = 0% | Grade F(0)
    Optimize Images = 0% | Grade F(0)

    The same tells me the google page speed test.

    How does that happen and how can I redo it? Please help!

    Hey @bastianhelfrich,

    Hope you’re well.

    Sorry to hear this issue. To reverse the compressed images you first need to deactivate Smush plugin and install https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ plugin. Then regenerate all your thumbnails from scratch.

    But the actual problem is not expected. Are you sure you optimize all your images? Also, the current version of Smush can’t help you with scale images. It’s about your images used in page smaller than loaded. So if you are using an image in your page as 500×500, you should upload that image as 500×500 size too.
