PLEASE HELP – TOTALLY LOST – TITAN PRO -VOLUSION

I must be the stupidest person in the world. I have been designing website using Dreamweaver CS3, 4 and 5 for over 10 years yet I find wordpress to be very frustrating so I am sure you will be hearing from me often.
I want to create a site (not a blog) and want to have all references to blogging, adding posts etc to be gone. The site will have 8 main pages each displaying products which will then be sold in the online store. I hope I am on the right track in using word press.

I began by following Jay Lowery’s tutorial on Lynda,com and I then created a local testing server —-then I figured out that I could have the word press files installed on my website so I did that so now I am working off the site https://www.gotcow.ca – using Titan Pro which I purchased thinking that I would get more support than just Titan and it appears I was wrong about that too. I do want to set up a store so have downloaded the Volusion plug in but when I go to enter the link to the store as gotcow.ca/index.html I am told it is incorrect – I see that index.html seems to be a non entity?????

Somewhere I have gone totally off the track – please can someone set me straight!!!!!

So here are my first 3 questions of I am sure many :

How do I know where to find the main page of my store – it seems ther is no home page allowable

How do I remove all the unwanted material that relates to blogging
How can I put an image in the header area – not a logo but a 960 x 150 image
