• Hi, can someone please help, I’m desperate!

I recently created my site using “The Morning After” theme. All was going well and working fine. But earlier I went to my settings and changed the “site title” and and “new user default role” to “editor” and clicked on the save changes icon. The web browser (firefox) was then very slow so I refreshed and it went to an error page or something simiar.

I then tired to go back to my site to see if the changes had taken affect but the website failed to load properly – please look – new-witness.co.uk

I tried to log on but it will no longer let me, stating there is a DNS error.

    Please help!! Thanks in advance,

  • Do you happen to have any kind of redirect or login plugins installed? I have seen these cause an Admin page redirect loop. Not sure if that is the issue but is something to check. You would need to remove the plugin directory via FTP if this is the case.

No I haven’t. I did install easymail this morning though.

Any ideas why my theme will not load at all. I have no idea, I’m clueless.

You said you changed “site title”, if you accidentally changed the Site or WordPress URLs, this can effect loading of your site and login. You may want to check your settings inside your database via phpMyAdmin since you cannot login at the moment. Usually you can get access from your web host control panel.

Ahhh I have found the problem thanks to you!

For some strange reason my URL was missing a letter.

    Cheers man!

    Great, glad I could help!

I am getting the same loading error or dns error. Oops, a link must be broken. Sometimes the site works and sometimes the site does not work. Not off to a great start. The error occurs both for IE and Firefox. My domain and host is the same provider. My host cannot find a problem. Surprisingly, prior same issues. Thus, what can I do to correct the dns problem?
