Please help: WordPress.com Stats needs attention: please enter an API key or dis

Hi,

No matter what I do it says “WordPress.com Stats needs attention: please enter an API key or disable the plugin.”

I have registered a new API key which is not used anywhere. I’ve re-entered the API key, reinstalled the plugin, it looks like something on the WordPress end that is not accepting this API key once the local server/plugin sends it to them.

I have tried the steps on the wordress.com help page, which really doesn’t tell you anything other than how to insert the key.

I’ve emailed their tech support and have yet to receive a response.
