Can i rename WP folders?

  • I am new to wordpress. Tho, i understand i little on how to make changes to wordpress. But please my question is, is it good to rename the WordPress Directories, e.g, Wp-content, wp-admin, wp-core and other directories on wordpress?

    And what will be the result if i change them, it is going to affect my site traffic and ranking?

    Please help me.

    I don’t recommend it. Plenty of core files are hard-wired to look for these directories, so you’ll have to edit those core files every time WordPress is updated, and we don’t support modified core files here.

    I assume you’re doing this for security reasons, and if so, we have our own recommended security measures.
