  • Great plug-in, just what I need. However, it doesn’t let vendors see how many times their file has been downloaded, and it prevents the most popular widgets/top files widgets from working.
Is it possible to re-add support for logging download numbers in Frontend Submissions?

    G’day tomrudderham,

I also would like it to record download numbers, so it’s likely to happen at some point. Of course, for files on www.ads-software.com they already do get counted, but free files can be sourced from other places too. It’ll come in a future release.

Can you open a new support ticket and elaborate on “prevents the most popular widgets/top files widgets from working” please?

    cheers,
    Ross

    Greetings Ross,

I second tomredderham’s request for download counts. And I suggest including the user name or ID of the subscriber. Thank you.

    G’day Bill,

Getting the user name or ID means they have to be logged in, which won’t be the typical downloader. If you really want to record who is downloading, then you’re best off making them go through the cart.

    cheers,
    Ross

    Thanks Ross,

The one-and-only content owner wants it that way. The user must create an account and log in; the download pages are blocked otherwise.

    Greetings Ross,

I just updated the plugin and I am having difficulties with the free downloads function. When I add the link and test to download it doesn’t, it sends me to a cannot display page. These are the steps that I am following:

    1. create a new download
    2. upload the document(word doc) from my computer
    3. create the link with the tool, direct link
    4. Test

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, please help!

    Thanks for your time.

    Hi there,

first off thanks for sharing this as plugin. I was wondering, does this also work with variations within EDD? As you can choose to download lo-res or hi-res?

    Thanks!
