• I made the mistake of signing up with Netfirms and now, having been bit once by marketing ploys, I would like some of the members here to recommend a good hosting solution. I run a WP blog but I need the ability to host another domain for my wife, possibly a thrid. Something reliable and compatable and not outrageeously priced (like Networksolutions and such). I don’t need a truck-load of bandwidth either, all my sites are small and only get 3-400 hits a day.

I’ve looked into all the hosts listed on the Hosting page, they seem okay. And I’ve checked out asmallorange.com, which was highly recommended by others, but they are not accepting any new signups, which makes me think that they aren’t in it for the long haul. I would like a good host that has been around for a while with a good reputation. it seems that this is a hard thing to find. If my ISP would let me host my own, I would, but c’est la vie.

Thanks in advance. I will look at all recommendations, so please voice your opinions, suggestions, experiences.

  • Another thing to keep in mind, if a company is overselling, it probably means that their customer service and their customers are going to suffer if not now then soon. That’s what happened to me at Lunarpages and why I left them. They oversold and then over-resricted my use. Then they tried to bully me into paying more for services I really didn’t need to make up for the fact that they had tried to put too many customers on too few servers. I had been with them for ages and had been more than pleased with them from the beginning but it was clear in the last 6 months or so that they had gotten too big for their own good. They were stretched too thin in customer support and they were cranky about it and it showed.

So they were losing customers, including me.

Just something to keep in mind. Just because a company has been around, doesn’t mean that they are secure or will stay that way.

I can really recommend Hostgator. I’ve been using them for almost a year with two sites and everything has been great. I’ve occasionally had questions about support for various WP plugins and I’ve then simply used the chat function on their page. Always got quick and correct respsonses. Install with WP is very easy and their plans offer more than most people will ever need. They are affordable but there are cheaper competitors. Personally I rather pay a few bucks extra a month and have a solution that works.

Best of luck with whatever you choose

Try https://www.hostbreak.com — offers both shared hosting & reseller hosting starting from $1.99 a month with ample disk and bandwidth.

We are hosting with https://www.exaltinfo.com since past 1 year on various blog sites and database driven directory sites. ok its working so fine without trouble and downtime. Check with them.

I have used both BlueHost and AN Hosting. AN Hosting does not provide keyword statistics in their Webalyzer or their raw logs. If you need any kind of metric to find out how people are reaching pages on your site, AN Hosting may be the worst host I’ve seen in the last 5 years.

I would suggest its always good to check the real review of particular hosting company and their overall stability and reputation before you make a final decision.

    I have seen many people recommending these hosting companies;

    https://hostgator.com
    https://micfo.com
    https://eukhost.com
    https://webhosting.uk.com

I just started reselling DreamHost hosting for WordPress blogs only. We’re brand new, but we (and I personally) guarantee that we won’t shut down and leave you (even if the business fails). I’m with my hosting forever and I’ll keep customers on as long as they pay.

Anyway, you get some space, we have good packages with good prices, and you get a lot of what one gets from DreamHost with a lower cost.

[Moderated: There’s nothing wrong with making money, but the forums are no ones personal billboard. The single reply above with your info was enough.]

Get reviews for web hosts before choosing them . Also consider support and Uptime as main factor after cost . [moderated, see previous comment]

I would recommend HostGator. They have plans starting from $6.95/month (50GB disk space, 200GB bandwidth). I moved to them a few months ago because my previous hosts’ server response times became unbearably slow and till now I’m very satisfied.

There support is very responsive. I have mailed them several times asking different stuff and every time they responded in a couple of minutes.

They will even assist you in transferring your account if it’s currently hosted on a different provider.
