• Your plugin looks pretty nice. But one thing really annoys me: the “WP Inventory Manager is unlicensed” message that appears on every dashboard screen. This is not only violating the plugin guidelines (11) it also gives the impression, that a user of your plugin must buy a license to get automatic updates through the www.ads-software.com plugin directory.

Thank you for your time in addressing this with us, Bernhard. Here is our response:

    1. We are not in violation, WordPress has reviewed our code to be on the repository. I could name another dozen plugins that have messages VERY similar to ours.

    2. That is incorrect. You WILL NOT get automatic updates if you do not have a license. Again, a model that MANY plugin authors use. Gravity Forms, Master Slider, Yoast Professional, WooCommerce add ons, and the list is very long.

The nag goes away if you buy a license. Otherwise, it is a VERY small price to pay to have something for free.

I hope this helps to understand why the message is there.

Thank you and enjoy the new year!

    Bernhard,

We will be releasing an update in our end of month update that makes the notices “dismiss-able” when in any admin page other than the WPIM pages. You cannot dismiss the notice inside of the WPIM pages.

I hope this is a suitable 1/2 way point for you and users that may be experiencing the same feelings toward the notice. Please be advised this will be in the next release at the end of the month.

    Thank you!
