Please, what am I doing wrong?

I must be doing something wrong because Yoast is flat out not working for me. I have been doing just about everything right and getting green SEO ratings throughout for over a year but I am not seeing any of my keywords show up in SEMRush, Ahrefs, or Search Console (I don’t even rank in SpyFu). I am however ranking for nonsensical terms that I am not optimizing my site for. Terms like “big five boots”, “komodo boots”, and “shark finning quotes”. I am a conservation blog that did separate articles on shark finning and conservation quotes, but not on the two together. Point is, no keyword that I put in Yoast is working and instead I am appearing to rank for keywords that combine either multiple articles, or just drop in the name of my brand within an article’s keyword. What am I doing wrong?
