    It works fine for me on a WordPress site version 3.8

    What behaviour are you experiencing exactly?

    For anyone finding this thread after updating WP or themes/plugins – visit you settings -> permalinks screen to flush the rewrite internal rules. Sometimes updates mess those up and custom post types like Simple URLs stop working.
