Pls suggest great GPL theme for Personal Blog and Portfolio

  • Hi, I’m a graphic designer and a 3D artist. I’m kind of stuck in the darkness with so many themes around. I was wondering if you could suggest me some simple payed or free GPL theme templates where I could basically just have my blog as a homepage, and a few sections like Portfolio (with images and description), About, and Contact in the header. Nothing complicated! Just a simple theme but it has to be responsive of course.

    I did search on themeforest and I even bought one theme there called “Nuveau” for approx. 60$ which looked really awesome as demo, but when I installed it i noticed it’s pretty slow to load, sometimes not loading, and it was extremely f***ing hard to admin, actually it was nightmare to get to understand how it all works, ui was non-friendly as hell and so on. Any advice and help will be highly appreciated!
