• I’m new to the wordpress world and I’m looking for some direction to setup a multisite with ecommerce support. From a feature point of view here’s the top things I’d like guidance on what plugins to use.

    subdomains
    full domains

    one click checkout without account
site owner can self admin products, preferably not through the backend
normal backend is still available per multisite
    products
    -can be grouped for discounts
    -can have discounts codes
-common catalog (i.e all multisites see the same selection)
    integrate with social networking
    order processing
-all orders must go to multisite owner for fullfillment
-able to add custom shipping options (e.g. in store pickup)
    custom theme per multisite

Sorry if this seems like a repeat but I’m really new to wordpress!

Wow, the above reply slipped past the spam filters. I will provide an answer nearly as useless but not quite..

I’ve gone through eShop, wp-ecommerce, ecwid and last marketpress. The first 3 I wasn’t expected much with but the last one I got my hopes up as it was designed with wpmu in mind.. However like ALL plugins that you pay for from wpmudev it requires the user to hack it to pieces just to get it to do what it is sold as supposed to be able to do from the beginning so in the end i threw that one in the trash just like all of the rest.. I’d be pretty stoked to hear of any ecommerce solutoins that allow for a global product list

It’s Multisite these days, not WPMU. Mapping full domains is easily done with this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/
