I use WordPress as a CMS for a site that only contains pages instead of posts. The Fold Page List plug-in is used to navigate the page content. For SEO purposes I would like to use 100 to 150 character long title tags with relevant keywords for all pages (I use the All-in-one SEO plugin).

Unfortunately the Fold Page List plug-in uses the title meta-data field to generate its tree structure. Long title tags make the navigation tree created by the plug-in look clumsy. The navigation list should contain short brief titles, like the titles that my pages themselves actually have. How can I force the Fold Page List plug-in to make use of the page title instead of the title field?

After getting in touch with the makers of Fold Page List, they sent me a new version of their plug-in (version 1.9) which gets along nicely with the All-in-one SEO plug-in as well as the Page Menu Editor plug-in. For anyone looking at using WordPress pages as a simple CMS, I can recommend these 3 plug-ins as a good combo to make a site that is easy to navigate and that gets found by Google & co.
