Hi. (Disclaimer – I am a complete novice at building any websites)

I am attempting to add plugins to my site and cannot get anything to work. I have tried going via this route: Plugins – Add New – Install
But it just does not work for me although it works for a friend who recently setup a WordPress site using the same theme.

All I get is the following message:

    Downloading install package from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/instagram-feed.1.3.3.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    Could not create directory. /home2/mrausadv/public_html/wp-content/plugins/instagram-feed/

    Plugin install failed.

This does not work for any plugins at all.

I have managed to work out how to upload the zip file to my Bluehost C Panel file manager but my WP back end still says that I have no plug ins installed. I did change permissions to 777 too.

Am I missing a crucial step here or what? Do I have to do something else so that my site can access the plug in files on my server?

    Thanks in advance. ??
