Plug in not working / social sign in's not appearing.

I’ve installed social on our site, and clicked on the option to disable social’s comment display. When I go to one of my single posts it doesn’t look like anything has changed, but it’s also displaying the social sign in buttons, nor is it retrieving comments from facebook or twitter. Any ideas what’s going on?
