• Hi,
I wonder if you could possibly help me please. I’m setting up a site which is being hosted by someone else for me on a Linux server. I’ve been told that I cannot download themes and plug-ins directly within the WordPress control panel (dashboard) as the server uses SFPT (rather than FTP).

I’ve been downloading themes to my computer and transferring them using Filezilla FTP so that isn’t a problem.

I’ve just installed the theme Virtue by Kadence themes 1.8.5 and it says to install the ‘Virtue Toolkit’ plug-in. As I can’t do it from within the control panel, I have tried to find it to download and then transfer across via Filezilla, but it doesn’t seem to be available anywhere to download. Looking at the files I downloaded within the Theme originally, I can’t find it – unless I’m going mad! Does anyone know where I can find it and what it is actually for?

    Thank you

    Stella

The zip file is actually located under virtue/lib/plugins if you wanted to unzip and then FTP upload.

    Hi Jose,

Thank you for getting back to me. I have found the zip file but it just won’t extract. Every time I try, a box shows:

“Do you want to copy this folder without encryption?

A problem is preventing this folder from being encrypted.

    Yes Skip Cancel”

Whatever I do, I cannot extract it. I’ve tried lots of times to try and transfer the file with Filezilla but it just won’t extract and install.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

I’m a bit rusty with using WordPress as my last site was a couple of years ago.

    Thank you.

I was still having problems installing even when unzipped, so I’ve tried another theme instead.
