• I am new to php and i created my own wordpress template for my website. when i try to install plugins it asks for ftp information. i enter it in and it goes to a blank white page. is there code that i left out when i was making my template to allow plugins?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

well i havent been able to activate any plug ins so there are none i can deactivate. i have had the hosting company set permissions for the blog and everything. when i go to activate a plug in it just asks for ftp info which i enter then the screen goes white? no error page or anything. ?

You may need to have another word with your hosting company about this. For example, what permissions did they set? Also, the server error logs may give some idea of where the problem is.

ok thanks ill try contacting them again. the only thing they told me they did was set permissions to the wp-content folder. i really appreciate your responses!
