[Plugin: 404 Redirected] Core behavior of page/?p=n breaks giving 404 error
-
Thanks for 404 Redirected; it looks like a great plugin for handling 404 errors automatically. However, I’ve noticed it breaks a subtle feature of the WordPress core which I need on my blog:
Firstly, I have a sales page on my site at:
https://confidentman.net/confident-man-ebookI want to be able to add a parameter on the end of this which redirects WordPress to another post instead, so ClickBank affiliates can create affiliate links to any post on my site.
Without 404 Redirected, a link like this:
https://confidentman.net/confident-man-ebook/?p=112… is redirected by WordPress to the specified post the same as:
https://confidentman.net/?p=112… which ends up showing:
https://confidentman.net/dating/successful-speed-datingIn other words, the post specified with the p parameter appears to override the page specified in the URL; which is exactly what I want.
But with 404 Redirected enabled on my site I get a 404 error instead.
I came across a similar problem using Smart 404 which I reported here, but Smart 404’s author doesn’t appear to be active any more so I’d like to switch to 404 Redirected… if I can get this problem resolved.
Anyone have any clues as to how to fix this please?
Thanks,
Graham
