Plugin Abandoned?

I have the same problem, the plugin is not working anymore.
Is there an alternative?

I am going to follow this thread as I am having the same problem, and am hoping for a featured video solution that still works.

I recently switched to Blog Way’s WordPress theme from “Ajaira” by Rakib (version: 1.0.7) and noticed that all of our previously “featured videos” using “Featured Video Plus” plugin by by Alexander H?reth (version 2.3.3) are no longer being featured. Additionally, there is no reference on our published posts or on the blog roll of any videos that were selected to be “featured”.

For one of the many post’s we need help with, we chose to temporarily and manually re-embed the video into the single post in order for it to displayed when viewed in “single post”. But… of course this solution isn’t ideal, nor is it efficient to have to go back to every single post to edit. Plus, it still doesn’t solve that the videos aren’t being displayed as a featured video’s on our blog role.

Me to. I use it to and get the same message from Wordfence.

I would pay for a plugin can do this.

Does any other WordPress plugin come close to this?

I will update it using CPT with ACF when necessary (For now, I just have the Wordfence message). The best and easiest option would be just to mantain this plugin with the WP updates, without any new funtionalities, it’s perfect just as it is!

Should we ask Alexander H?reth (developer of the plugin) if he would be interested in a small crowdfunding to keep it up to date?

Forked off a guy who did the actual work to fix the deprecation notice. Added composer support to his work.

That’s nice to see. But unfortunately, the plugin is buggy. When I change the featured video, still stays excerpt from the previous video description – for example. There’s some other bugs too. Sadly it’s abandoned, I would be happy to see this plugin updated and would gladly buy if it’s updated in premium version.

Do you mean a “WordPress Featured Video – VideographyWP” plugin? Seems you can’t set featured video instead of a post thumbnail?
