Yes, I figured there would be some level of caching – but the API (which isn’t cached) still reports 0. Also, it’s been four days and I know that several sites installed the plugin on launch day. So how long is the caching?!
Thanks.

Honest question: why are you concerned about this?
The zero is synonymous with less than 10. Your new plugin doesn’t have much by way of installs.

You had a peak of 29 downloads.
This is an opensource project. It’s not Am-mega-store Online or any sort of market at all. You’re not a company here, you’re a volunteer that generously contributed code and time for free. The metrics are meant for informative purposes but there’s never been any service guarantee for them here or anything.
Please do not sweat metrics here. They’ll update when they do. It just doesn’t really matter for a plugin that’s only 4 days old.
]]>My concern is about the accuracy of the stats and how the mechanism works – if they’re being provided they should be accurate, even if there’s a delay. I know the number of active installs is more than five, and could be well up into the double digits, and has been for several days. I’ve got no problem if it takes X days to update the stat due to caching. I’d just like to know what the cache levels are so that I can judge if there’s a problem with the stats reporting mechanism, a problem with my plugin that means people are ditching it as soon as they see it, or something else.
Do you know what the system is in terms of cache levels etc?
Like you said, I’m “a volunteer that generously contributed code and time for free”. And although I contribute time and effort for free I’d like to know there’s some point to it and that people are using it. Otherwise what’s the point?

]]>Recently I made new update 2.1.0 and after that 2.1.1. Plugin had about 150 downloads in couple of days, but active installs still say that 100% are on version 1.0.0. Also active installs number dropped from 30+ to 20+.
I have no clue what is going on, looks like something is wrong with the stats, any idea what could cause this?
Thanks
]]>Not sure how it works but it would be nice to get as close to accurate as possible.
The oddest one though is someone having only 600 downloads and over 10,000 + active installs. Wild
