• Dear Marcel

Add Link to Facebook was working fine on a multiuser installation to show posts made in a facebook group on the umbrella blog, although with a delay of about 3 days (so a post made on facebook would show up in the widget on the blog about 3 days later).

It stopped working. I read the recent forum posts and thought I probably needed to reauthorise the plugin. I’m a superadmin for the multisite. I went to the umbrella site and to Tools then Add Link to Facebook in order to reauthorise.

Now it is telling me that only user id 10 can access the settings (user 10 is one of the subsite users, not an admin).

Any clues what might have happened or how I can fix it? I am using the Weaver Theme – I’ll post there too, and ask my hosting company to check it.

    Thanks

    Imogen

  • User 10 did check the option ‘Share with all users’ (it doesn’t matter if the user was admin or not).

See the FAQ, question U22 for how to fix this.

Brilliant! That worked perfectly. Thank you very much indeed.

Oh dear. I spoke too soon… I’m afraid it’s still stuck on a post from 3 days ago but there have been several posts on the linked facebook group since then.

I’m using Add Link to Facebook to show posts from a facebook group in a WordPress sidebar widget. See https://creativeanddigitalmarketing.net

This problem has been happening on and off for a while – it just seems to get “stuck” and I don’t think it’s the 60 day reauthorisation thing because it’s more frequent than that. Have you any advice on what else to change so that the posts appear reliably?

Thank you very much Marcel. I did read the FAQs, but as most people use your plugin the other way (to facebook not from facebook), I didn’t find anything. Also, I just wanted to check that I have paid for the upgrade. Could you tell me what is your company name that I should look for on my card statement?

    Best wishes

    Imogen

Which of the Facebook social plugin are your referring too? The activity feed?

In general there is little you and I can do about this, because the social plugins run on the Facebook servers (even though they appear on your website). You can check if the plugin is still authorizing (so you know the associated Facebook application is still valid), but there is little else that can be done.

To help you with the card statement, contact me here and mention your PayPal e-mail address and I will check if I can find the PayPal transaction details.

I have sent you a message via the contact form about Paypal.

As far as I understand it is the activity feed (ie all the posts in the group) which should come through. I still cannot get the hyperlinks to come through active (clickable) either (people often post links in this group).

Because of this problem, I would love to be able to have the widget arranged so that if people click anywhere on the facebook posts in the widget, they are taken to the group.

You can see it here: https://creativeanddigitalmarketing.net

    Thank you again.

    Imogen

I have checked the activity feed plugin for you and it is generated correct by the plugin.

    From the Facebook documentation:

The Activity Feed plugin displays the most interesting recent activity taking place on your site.
