[Plugin: AdSense Manager] [ad] not displaying

Followed instructions here:
https://www.mutube.com/mu/getting-started-with-adsense-manager-3x/Configured default “Ad Unit”
Using Windows Live Writer as my blog editor.
Added “[ad]” to a post and it wasn’t replaced by an AdSense ad as expected.
Also tried replacing with:
<?php if(function_exists()){ adsensem_ad(); } ?>This didn’t work either. Also verified that code is in the pages via view-source.
Any suggestions on troubleshooting my configuration?
