• Your plugin was working fine when I was using WP 2.2 and yours 2.5. The ads were no longer showing since I upgraded several times from your 2.5 all the way to the latest 3.2.2. I have also upgraded my WP from 2.2 to 2.5. All my other plugins are working along the upgrade of WP, just yours is missing out.

I like your work and respect your efforts and speed to get things straight. But just it has been too long for me missing that part of income.

What info I need to give you so to fix the issue?

  • not intent on jacking the thread but using the widget manager ad (placing the ads in a widget) produces a fatal error

Fatal error: Call to a member function show_ad_here() on a non-object in /home/********/public_html/wp-content/plugins/adsense-manager/adsense-manager.php on line 196

Jacco: Have you upgraded to version 3.2.3? I have put a few fixes in although I’m still having difficulty tracking this bug down.

romo9: Is that error with 3.2.3? Again, I’m running the latest version on 2.5 fine so a bit confused. I will do further testing later and see if I get anywhere. Did you upgrade from an earlier version of AdSense Manager by any chance? It may be the cause of the problems.

Thanks for the feedback, it’s much appreciated.

Jacco: The upgrade to 3.2.4 should solve the problem. It was a bug in the upgrade procedure from 2.5… to retry the upgrade simply log into your WordPress dashboard and add ?adsensem-revert-db=2 at the end of the url in your browser and hit return.

Alternatively you can open each ad in your Manage » Ad Units panel and resave them (resaving will correct the formatting).

Hope that helps, let me know if you have any problems.

Little update: If anyone is getting errors like romo9 and you know how to access your database, can you send me the entry from your options table named “plugin_adsensem” – this stores your Ad database and with this I will (hopefully!) be able to recreate the problem and come up with a fix.

I can’t recreated this bug on my own system – although I know in *theory* what is causing the problem, I need to know why it’s arising.

    Thanks!

You can email it to me here.

mutube: I upgraded to your 3.2.7, still no ad. So I entered the link as you suggested:

    ?adsensem-revert-db=2

My entire site BREAKS. It is a PRODUCTION site. My WP front page new gives this message:

Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /home/xxx/public_html/store/wp-content/plugins/adsense-manager/adsense-manager.php on line 156

Can you please give me a fix now. I am awaiting you online!!

3.2.7 should solve all the problems above. If you’ve upgraded from v2 before and been left with a broken version, you can retry the upgrade by simply logging into your WordPress dashboard and adding ?adsensem-revert-db=2 at the end of the url in your browser. Hit return and settings will be reimported.

If you don’t want to do that, just check that you have your Google AdSense ID in Network Settings (an upgrade bug was wiping this). And re-add any widgets you were using. That should be problem solved: if you find any more please let me know. Thanks!

I am planning to use phpmyadmin to delete all adsensem record. Hopefully I will get my WP back up first. Then I can restore my sql backup made 15 hours ago.

What content I need to delete in the MySQL so to disable adsensem? I am no expert in MySQL so if you could give me the syntax it would be nice.

Find the table named options, and then look through for the key called plugin_adsensem

In that is the ad data – clear it and it will resolve the problem. But it would be great if you could take a copy and email it to me. That way I can find out what’s going wrong.

    Much appreciated.

I brought my site back by copying value of adsensem_backup to adsensem.

You really scared my sh*t off!

On resume of the dashboard, there was a message asking me to proceed upgrading adsensem from a previous version. I pressed that [ok] button.

Still the ad tag is showing on my post as [ad] instead of the real ad.

You mean you want a copy of the sql?

Jacco: It was the data in the plugin_adsensem key that I was after, but if you don’t have it no problem. What I’d do now is go to Manage » Ad Units and then click on Network Settings for your Google ads. The network ID is probably blank? Copy your publisher ID from the Google AdSense pages and that should now work.

Also make sure that on the Ad Units page that one of the ads is checked under “DA” (default ad): it should do this automatically but just in case.

What version did you upgrade from by the way?

Also, are you using WP Cache? If that’s enabled try re-saving the page where the ad is not showing, otherwise it will still be serving up the cached copy.

Jacco: Checking the blog page of your site, the ads are now working (yes?) but your Google publisher ID still needs updating. As mentioned just copy this from the Google AdSense site; it’s in the top right corner of the page.

Let me know if you need any more help.

It was exactly the problem of the missing Google Publisher ID. Thanks for your help.

It is working now. Thank you.

Your plugin is really a good one centralizing all ad publishing management in one place : )
