  • Hi bluebird2,

ACF isn’t my plugin, but you mention you tried several widgets to display the custom field content without success. Have you tried Advanced Custom Field Widget? Advanced Custom Field Widget is my plugin so if you’ve tried it and had problems with it, I’d like to know.

Having looked at ACF, it looks pretty good… in fact, it’s pretty much what I was looking to add to my plugin, so it would be a shame if it can’t handle what ACF does.

If you haven’t tried my plugin, give it a whirl, it may work for you. If you have, let me know the problems with some examples (post them in my plugins page) and I’ll try and figure something out for you.

    Hi bluebird2,

Scratch my question… my plugin won’t work with ACF because the data is not stored in the standard location for custom fields. ACF has it’s own storage mechanism. To use the data it holds, you must use it’s built in template functions as described in the user documentation for this plugin.

This use of a custom storage mechanism is why the custom field display widgets don’t work with it… I suspect they’ll all use the standard custom field storage mechanisms.

Yes. You are right. ACF uses its own storage mechanism on the databese. THanks for the response.
