[Plugin: Advanced Menu Widget] Menu showing all levels regardless of settings

No matter what settings I choose the menu ALWAYS shows parent, child and grandchild pages. I would think that if I selected “display only children of selected item” that grandchild pages would go away, but that’s not the case. How do I get it to show only parent and child pages?
