• Hello. Thanks for a good plugin. I realy like it, but there is one thing I am missing It would be nice sto see the ads in the sidebar without styling. I have tryed to find where the styling is place in the widget, but could not find it. I have a site that look very much like a newpaper, and I am also lookin for a posibility to fide the borders and to actualy see just the ads in the same width as the widget. Hope you understand. If not maybe this can sort it out for you https://blog.xclusive.name

  • I’d also really like the option, for use with Sidebar widgets. I’m trying another plugin, MaxBannerAds, that does this automatically. In my case, I don’t want the borders or header text inherited for my theme’s widgets. It would probably be helpful to add the option of a) a white background, b) a transparent background, or c) pick a custom color background with a hex code

These are great ideas. I will see if I can implement into the widget functionality of Advertising Manager.

    Cheers,

    I added the feature:

‘Hide widget formatting’ in the widget settings area in v3.3.18. If you want to turn off the formatting from your theme, just check this box.

I am afraid I will not be able to get to adding transparent and other backgrounds – mostly because with the large number of themes out there, I would probably break something ??

    Hope this works for you,
    Scott

I just tried out the new version, and it does indeed cause the header and border to be removed – thanks. You might want to consider adding one more thing which would be an option to center it, put it left, or put it right. I think as it is I will still have to go into the site template CSS and modify it

Thanks for the feedback. I will spend some more time with this.

I know one more feature i very much would like to see.. make det sidebar ad follow the page when you scroll. Just like the one you see on the left of this article https://f-b.no/article/20090601/NYHET/244101922/1232 .

I would like to see the organizing of the banners a bit different. By having the same name makes it dificult to tell the banners apart from each other. If you could make some sort of categorization of the banner, and mabye thumbnails of the banners, so it would be possible to just use the hover-function.

You should make zones, and the ads by different name to these zones. It would probably bee a better way to organize the banners.

I have alot of idés, so if you want i’ll keep them coming.

You can look at my site an see why that there is alot of things you could implement to make it a the best ad handling tool. https://www.kulturkluss.no

    Keep them coming!

I was going to implement zones (ala OpenX), but wanted to keep things SIMPLE. I think that if there is a simple way of displaying zones so that basic users understand (e.g. I just want to load my google adsense ad and thats it), I can implement zones fairly easily.

Your feedback would be great. Regarding adding functionality to the widgets – I am not very good with them – I am gearing up for a pretty major release in the next days (hours?), so after that I am all ears.

Here are some things on the list:
    – pulling stats from ad networks (e.g. get revenue from google adsense)
    – logging stats
    – zones
    – optimising (e.g. get Optimise via OpenX Market working)

Other feature suggestions are very welcome!

    Cheers,

Alot of the advertisers i worked with when I worked in the 3th biggest newspapers her in Norway, was using Tradedoubler. Have you thought about implementing that?

I used to use phpAdsNew (early name of OpenX) and they had a realy good way to make zones. The problem is that I think that it may be overkill, since this is just for one site at the time. I have seen a ads implementation from the slayer (TS Ad Integration). The way he made his “zones” is a bit simple I think. But there is a okay start. Look at that one and you will probably get som extra idés. There is also one thing I miss, as I said, “sticky ad”.

You should add views. You can set a number of views a ad is suppsed to show. There is also a solution to add hourbased views, both static an dynamic. (Example: I want my ads showen betwen 10-11 am.)

Again, many thanks for the feedback. I have used Tradedoubler in the past, and they are now on the list.

    Please keep the feedback coming!
