I just upgraded from adsense manager and to WP 2.8.

When I try to place an ad in the sidebar using a widget, it gives me one widget to choose from, but it’s not the right one!

How can I change the widget to be the right one I want?

  • I have the exact same problem, if I put the widgets in BEFORE upgrading to WP 2.8 and the new “Advertising Manager” then upgraded it works fine. The other sites I have, I didn’t do it in this order so all I’ve got is the default ad and some other ad in my widgets.

I’ve got four ads I’ve created (back in the day) that need to be re-added to my sidebar. Unfortunately, when they changed the module name I had to un-install the first adsense manager plugin, which removes the widgets from the sidebar, then “upgraded” to the new one which seems to have wiped all those required widgets from selection.

Now I’m stuck w/o ads in my sidebar at all.

Unfortunately, an upgrade from Adsense Manager to Advertising Manager still needs the widgets to be placed back into place. Subsequent upgrades to Advertising Manager should preserve the widget settings.

To choose the widget, select ‘Ad: (name)’ widget. There will be a separate widget for each different ad name.

    Good luck,
    Scott

I am having the same problem. I have 2 Ads created. One called “content” and one called “sidebar”. They are setup correctly and preview works but when I go to the Widgets page under Appearance only the “Ad: content” is listed under Available Widgets.

How do I get it to add the sidbar ad to the widgets page.
Also, If i create new ads they don’t appear in the Available Widgets.

    Please Help.

I am using WordPress 2.8 and Advertising Manager 3.4.5

    I have similar problem:

Adds which were added to the sidebar before upgrade to 2.8 are still on the side bar (and I can drag them from sidebar and back), however none of the new ads I am adding to the Advertising Manager appears to be available to drag to the sidebar ??

Ads appear in the Advertising manager itself and I can edit them w/o any problems, however I can’t add them to the side bar.

I have WP 2.8 and Advertising Manager 3.4.5 too.

I verified this issue – WP rewrote widget functionality in v2.8. I developed a fix today, but it needs a couple of more hour testing. A new version will be out tomorrow (Monday).

    Thanks, Scott!

    Thanks for the update.

I just released v3.4.6, which changes the way that widgets work if you are using WP2.8 and above.

Now, you can add a widget multiple times, and select the ad that displays from the widget settings. I am going to spend some time on the documentation today so that this is clear.

    Cheers,
    Scott

Really appreciate your hard work over the past few days.

Just updated the plugin, added an ad as a widget to the side bar, everything seems to work.

Thank you very much for your work!
