• When I try to use the widget, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function is_available() on a non-object in /home/xxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/advertising-manager/advertising-manager.php on line 145

I can’t get it to work. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks switzer,

with 3.3.16 the php error ist now gone. But i have a new problem with the sidebar-ad.

When i put a ad in the sidebar (selected for a specific author), he show me the ad for the author only over the “last posts widget”.

When i put the sidebar-ad widget under the “last post widget”, no autor-specific ad shows. (A banner for all autors works at this position, when one is activat.)

It seems to me, that the post widget deletes the autor information.

    desandro:

Thanks for the message. Advertising Manager just displays whatever ad you import into it. Each advertiser has their own technology to display ads – some of them use DHTML liberally, which could cause overwriting a part of your screen.

You may want to check to see if the ad format settings are correct (e.g. width and height of the ad). The ad width and height are used to allocate space for the widget on the page.

Let me know how you go, and if you skype me (switzer) I can look into it further.

    Cheers,
    Scott

    Hello Scott

The problem is not the ad. I use AdSense.

Now i think i found the problem. You know, over the sidebar widget “last posts” the ad work perfectly (relation: author post with author ad).

But a ad place under the “last posts widget” takes the author from the last post in the last post list/widget over the ad place (and not from the post/content). It seems the ad connect to the widget an not to the page-content.

    We use WPMU Version 2.6.3.

Maybe you can fix the problem. Otherwise next week i have more time for this and we can skipe.

    Thanks!

I also made the switch from admanager to advertising manager and after deleting the old plugin and installing the new one a couple times I new receive the following error when at the advertising manager management page: wp-admin/admin.php?page=advman-manage

Fatal error: Template_ListAds::display() [template-listads.display]: The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition "Ad_AdSense" of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded _before_ unserialize() gets called or provide a __autoload() function to load the class definition in /home7/[removed]/public_html/wp-content/plugins/advertising-manager/Template/WP27/ListAds.php on line 125

    andym1:

This seems strange. The class definition ‘Ad_AdSense’ comes from Adsense Manager, not Advertising Manager.

Are you sure you have Adsense Manager deactivated?

    Cheers,
    Scott

Hi switzer, I have number of sites and have delayed the upgrade tp advertising manager because of all the previous problem identified here.
I now have tried to install on my easiest site and have hit the same problem that vkfrainbow: had previously ie on activation I get the following
Fatal error: Call to undefined method stdClass::get() in /home/xxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/advertising-manager/class-upgrade.php on line 203
I am running WP 2.7.1 with PHP 5.1.30.
    Adsense Manager – 3.3.3 Advertising Manager – 3.3.18
Problem occures with adsense manager inactivated and also deleted.
I deactivated my 4 plugins – akismet,headspace2,ultimate google analytics, wp limited posts automatically.
change the theme to WP default theme.
I have to delete the Advertising Manager files in order to recover the site.
Really can’t think what else I can do now – please help…
    Fred

Whilst trying various google searches on this specific failure I can across this forum site where this exact problem was identified by Daniel Schoonover – https://code.openx.org/issues/show/22
I followed his events and managed to get advertising manager working as he did.
The main difference that I can see in mine is that my original adsense manager was at 3.3.3 whereas I now uploaded and installed my original adsense manager 3.2.13. Could this indicate where the original problem lay?
Hope this helps for the future of this very good plugin
    Fred

    morcom:

This error occurs when Advertising Manager identifies Adsense Manager data, and tries to upgrade the Adsense Manager data when it is still enabled.

For the life of me I cannot imagine a scenario where this error would occur with Adsense Manager uninstalled.

The next version of Advertising Manager will not stomp over Adsense Manager in any way, so that this error will no longer be thrown in any situation.

I am very glad that you were able to sort out this issue! Stay tuned for the next upcoming version…

    Cheers,
    Scott
