Hi, not sure if this is to do with my theme, but after upgrading to 0.8 I can finally get the calendar to show! Sadly, 2 things are happening

    1) the sidebars are fixed, I can’t remove them even if I wanted to. However this is not a huge issue.

    2) Clicking the event title causing the page to dim and a pop up to appear – and it sticks on “loading event details”.

Is there any fix for this? I can’t seem to find any solution yet. But thanks! The linkable titles alone make this way better than google calendar in concept.

    Hi direcow,

Glad to hear it’s working (despite the caveats). If you supply the URL to your site I will look into this tomorrow.

    Thanks

    Hi Eran,

Thanks for the response! Totally forgot to paste the link in:

I’m using the theme Atahualpa with just basic colour and image theming, if that helps.

    direcow,

I haven’t been able to identify the problem, but I know it’s not a back-end issue because the content is being delivered, it’s just not rendering in the event detail window.

It’s very bizarre that the edit details window works fore you, yet the display details does not.

Perhaps you can try disabling all other plugins and see if it runs.

    I just figured it out!
The WP Minify plugin installed on your blog offers the option to minify HTML. If selected, this option breaks my plugin. If you uncheck that option, everything works as expected.

If you haven’t done so already please vote, and verify that the plugin is compatible with the current version of WordPress: at https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/ajax-event-calendar/

    Thanks!

Greetings Eran, I could use your help as well, can’t get the event page to come up, says loading and never comes up…. I’m using the Panorama 2.1 by Themocracy , and I’m not using the WP Minify plugin to the best of my knowledge.. Any help would be much appreciated and I will show support and vote.

to help me troubleshoot this issue, please try the following:
    1. disable all your plugins except the calendar
    2. check to see if the event details slide-in appears
    3. add one plugin at a time until the slide-in stops working
    4. report back here which of your plugins is causing the conflict

    Thanks!
    Eran

    Eran-

1.) Disabled all plugins, tried still no details slide-in appears, IE9 says loading still, Firefox just a gray bar starts to drop down and it appears its trying to load and never does.. Also I can add events all day on the calendar, put on the published side when a user or myself trys to get the details to pull up, it says loading in IE9… I’ve uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled, also just so your aware I created a post and called the slug calendar and the calendar shows up perfectly but can’t get the details to show after clicking on the event day… Please advise next step.

    Thanks- Phil

    Eran-
Also when it’s trying to load you can click anywhere in the screen and it will stop trying to load and go back to the calendar that is grayed out while trying to open the slider.

Thanks so much for your help in this matter.

    Phil-

Thanks for the information, this sounds more like a theme conflict now.

I am currently in the process of wrapping up version 0.9 – to which I will includes adjustments to the event detail view. I’ll let you know as soon as that’s deployed, so you can try it out and see if that resolves the issue.

Also, the clicking anywhere on the screen to close the event detail view, is intentional behavior.

    Thanks for your feedback,
    Eran

    Eran,

I just installed your plugin but I’m not sure how to get the calendar to show on my page. I’m new to using WP and unfortunately, just beginning to learn HTML stuff.

Is there a code I need to insert on the page of my WP site? I’m not sure what else I need to do. I can add events, but I don’t know how I get others to see it when they click on the page.

    Thanks so much!

    kbunny,
As you are new to WordPress, you should know that it is customary for WordPress plugins to come with installation instructions. If you look at Installation tab of the plugin you will typically find the information you seek.

In reference to my plugin – instructions are located here:
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/ajax-event-calendar/installation/

No coding is required, just create a page as instructed.

    Good Luck,

    Hi Eran,

Been a little too busy to do testing, but strangely now with wp-minify turned off all my events have disappeared. Submitting a new one via the admin panel doesn’t work either. I haven’t activated any other plugins… so why would this be the case now?

    Thanks!

With a few minutes research, I found the problem, and it’s not the calendar, check out the screenshot below.

    Hi Eran,

Thanks for the awesome plugin, firstly!

I’ve just upgraded to the new version and not sure if it’s the upgrade or my site…the calendar was working fine until now.

When i click on an event the lightbox dropdown starts with the “Loading message” and then reverts to my homepage without the event detail appearing…any ideas would be very helpful.

I’ll have a play, site can be found @ https://rookiestaging.wtclondon.com

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Stephen
