  • I’m having this exact same problem but this is only happening on certain days, at this point the 31st of this month. I have created about 4 events on the 31st trying different things such as a set time event or all day event, also different categories but none show up in the calendar either on the site or in the admin side but then all events show in the sidebar widget.

    Any help would be great!

    Cheers!

Yesterday I spent several hours with webrightnow and were unable to ascertain the origin based on the information I was able to get from that implementation.

Until I am able to recreate the problem, it’s impossible for me to determine the cause. I have tried without success to replicate this issue. If you can tell me EVERYTHING there is to know about your setup, I’ll do what I can to help.

I’m on WP 3.2, and using this template https://www.templatemonster.com/demo/30418.html
The only things I’ve really changed in the template is column widths and removing the left sidebar.

Here’s the page with the calendar on it
    https://victorylifetoowoomba.com.au/upcoming-events

I’ve added events on quite a few days and non have replicated the problem so if there is a way I can go in and delete the information for what is on the 31st then that would be fine.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

Just like yesterday with webrightnow, I am able to see the July 31st events in the calendar that are listed in the upcoming events widget – which you are unable to see.
I wonder if it’s a strange browser bug.
    I’ve tested using FF5, Chrome 12, and IE9.
    What browser are you using?
What is your computer timezone settings?
    What OS are you using?
Try testing using another computer, or ask a friend if they see the events as well.

    Eran

    I’m in Australia so it’s 2:52pm 29th of July.
    On Windows 7 64bit Pro
I’ve tried it on all the same browsers, IE 8, on a Mac and a friend has tried as well and no luck.

The plugins I have activated are this one, JW Player and Mp3J-player.

Amazing plugin btw, looking forward to all the cool things you’re going to do with it. I saw some of the recurring events code commented out in there so that’ll be great when that gets going. Good job!

The problem is triggered by the computer timezone setting.
Which is strange that it would effect my view, since I’m running my browser on the same computer as my localhost – in which case the timezones would be the same.

So…at any rate, now I have to figure out why this is causing a problem.

In the meantime, if you want to delete those events, simply change your timezone to (Central Time, seems to work – go figure) and delete the events, then you can change back.

I’ll keep you posted when I figure this out.

p.s. Don’t get too excited for recurring events, it’s a WAAAAAAYS off, lots of other features will precede that evil feature.

    Awesome! Cheers for that.

Lol all good with the recurring events. Would there be anyway of editing the file that stores all the entries so that I could copy and paste and just change whichever details such as day?

    (@eranmiller)

Events are stored in the aec_events table in your wordpress database.
Not as simple as editing a file, but if you’re comfortable using MySQL it’s do-able.

    Eran

    Awesome.

I changed my the timezone in my WordPress and on my computer but no luck. Both are set to UTC -6:00 which is central time.
Wordpress was set manually to UTC -6:00, is yours set on a city?

    (@eranmiller)

I didn’t change my WordPress setting, it is set to Chicago.
My Windows timezone setting is set to -06:00 Central Time with Daylight Savings checked.

If you have access to the database you can delete the events from there.

    Eran

Sorry, it is working now. I went back and unticked the “Adjust time for Daylight Savings”

Thanks for your help, was great!

    Cheers!

    It’s working completely?
Meaning you are able to see events from the 31st in your timezone?
Or the temporary timezone hack is working?

    Eran

Sorry, just the temporary hack is working atm.

    Boo!
Oh well, I thought I had been granted a reprieve!
I don’t know how quickly this will resolve, but I’ll post updates here.

    Eran

Awesome, no problem, I’ll just avoid the days that are giving me trouble for now.

    Cheers again.
