From the demo this plugin looks really good. I have a couple feature suggestions however.

#1 A week and year view of the calendar would be nice.
#2 It’s a bit odd that from the single event view that previous/next doesn’t advance to the next event chronologically, but rather to next event definition (CPT). Hence, referring to the demo linked from the plugin page, if you’re on a single post view of “A concert” which recurs and click next you skip the rest of the concerts and see the Blackhawk vs Coyotes game. As a developer I understand exactly why it currently works this way, I’m just suggesting that it’s not behavior I’d expect as a user.

  • Hi.. I was wondering if it could be possible to retrieve an image posted on the event and retrieve it to the calendar view so it becomes the “background” on the day of the event in the calendar?

I have tried to search the internet for solutions to incorporate it into the plugin myself but without success.

    Thanks! ??

That sounds great vejsholtnormann. Look forward to it it next version.

You can try our premium support to implement such feature.

Has the shortcode with category id been implemented in v1.4?
If so, how do I get the id of a category?

    Thanks

The ability for different Categories to be represented by different colours would be ideal.
I work for a Church and there are many different groups that have events to post. Having the colours being different between these different categorized groups would be great.
But I do LOVE this calendar, it displays beautifully. Thank you for such a great plug in!

Wow, very embarassing. I missed the part about categories an choosing colours for them! In the Events Categories settings. My apologies! Now it’s a 5/5!

is there a shortcode for the widget as well?

This is coming in next release.
You can track the progress here: #177

This is just what I’m looking for but am struggling to give the file the right file permissions to allow me to make the appropriate amends. Can you help me with this or alternatively let me know how to find this file in the plugins editor to make the amends that way please???

    any help greatly appreciated

    Thanks

Check this ticket. I tried this but didnt get what I expect. So right now I just wait and pray that the seed studio will add thi soon.

    Hi Tarundeology
That doesn’t sound like good news, what happened when you tried it then?
I have read the ticket and can see the patch but cannot change the file permissions of the file app/helper/class-ai1ec-calendar-helper.php to make the amends and try it out lol.
I also can’t find the file within the editor files for this plugin within the plugins section of WordPress, how did you manage to make the changes?

I’m using cPanel File Manager to edit/change the file permission. u can also make changes using ftp. u can ask your hosting provider about this. I got the same result as comments below:

The patch worked, kind of. Now the event shows up spanning the correct dates, but they now also span other random dates in the future. For example, an event from Feb. 11-12 spans Feb. 11-12 correctly, but also shows up on the month view for Feb. 16-19 and Feb. 25-26.

Since I’m testing it on live website, so I have to restore it immediately to the original setting.

Oh dear, that doesn’t sound good. I am only working on a demo so will give it a go and see what happens but doesn’t sound hopeful!

I have tried amending file permissions in the ftp software and normally its fine but for some reason with this plugin it won’t even allow me to change the permissions!!

not to worry I’ll keep plugging away.

Thanks for your help, at least I know what to look out for!

The plugin is a great plugin. Try a fork from it with a few improved features – https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/calpress-event-calendar/

Hello, I did not go through all the suggestions but I have an other one, maybe not considered:

What about the option to add the link to an external event page in the single-event post?

Hi, I need an option to leave the time blank or TBC (to be confirmed). Is ths something that will added soon?
