  • If you can go into your database (through phpMyAdmin or the like), you can delete the four tables the database creates. I forget the actual names, but you should be able to find them easy enough as they had “ai1ec” in the table name.

I also deleted the plugin folder, then replaced it with the previous version (1.7).

Everything seems to be working good now. It looks like they broke 1.8 quite well.

So far this plugin has been absolute trash.

If you just delete the plugin on your FTP (the directory for that specific plugin in wp-content/plugins) it’ll deactivate it.

Hi, Sorry that 1.8 isn’t working out for you all.

3oh6, thanks for the help. We have had a few instances of this happening, but there are many others that work just fine.

    I downgraded to 1.5 by following https://help.time.ly/customer/portal/articles/545233-how-do-i-downgrade-to-1-5

somebody talked about a template folder that had to be delete in the downgrade process, but (and maybe this is the problem) I did not find this extra template folder.

A couple of things to follow up on in this thread.

The issue that caused the permissions has been fixed in both the wordpress version and never existed in the premium version. Please upgrade and your site should work again.

The folder that has the theme files from 1.6 forward is wp-content/themes-ai1ec

If anyone is still experiencing the permissions issue, please create a ticket by emailing [email protected]

Please include your version of WP and ai1ec. Ideally, please also list your activated plugins, because this issue has been (for some users) pinpointed to a plugin conflict.
