Thank you for your feedback. You are not the first user to report this plugin conflict. The dev team are aware of this conflict. Please take a look at this thread. Some users have indicated that it has solved conflict issues with this in particular plugin.

Yes I have already done what the thread suggests, but that removes all of the automatic paragraph formatting (<p> and <br />) of Custom Post Widget, which makes it pretty useless for my needs.

I don’t want to start a plugin war on whose code is better — I really have no idea and I greatly appreciate both plugins. I just hope there is a better solution.
