• 2 questions;
    1) What happened to the ability to add youtube videos per the screenshot that shows this capability on the wordpress extend download page for this pluin?
    2) Is there a way to speed up the upload time. Im uploading an FLV that is 20MB and it has taken 5 minutes so far – much longer than other upload plugins in my wordpress.
    3) Where is it uploading the FLV?

    Thanks.

    Actually, let me add a 4th question – How can I customize this player a bit more – would be nice to not have so many links back to Kaltura, would be nice to be able to customize the colors of the player – etc…

    and a 5th – how do I choose the thumbnail?

    Hi,

    Youtube feature has been removed from this version. You may upload the video directly to Kaltura.

    Uploading speed depends on many other aspects – our system needs to buffer the file as well, and as it’s stored on our servers (answer to 3rd question…) it does take a while longer. However, the upload speed has been improvoing significantly over the past few months and we’ll contintue improving it.

    We offer attractive customization packages for customers who wish to do so. You are welcome to contact me through our community site – https://www.kaltura.org and I’d be happy to connect you to our business development department.

    In order to choose a thumnbnail, click on save in the editor. Then you’ll see the option to set the thumbnail for the mix.

    One more thing – the plugin is now connected to the KMC (including the App studio), so you can customize your own player there as well and grab the embed code from the KMC.

    Are You saying that Kaltura does not support embedding from YouTube, Vimeo… and other similar sites? That’s a huge disadvantage. Or am I missing something here?

    Those specific sites you mentioned are indeed not supported for the self serve customers. However, there are other repositories (such as flickr, ccmixter etc.) that are supported, and, of course, the Kaltura Media Library, that contains a huge amount of media.
