[Plugin: amr-users] A Couple Questions Before Purchasing Addons (or membership)

See answers below. If you can wait a day or so, please do – there is an update about to go up – to both amr-users and a few add-ons – more features. more rigorous multisite integration.

A couple questions before deciding which level of addon access to
purchase:

1) I’m running multisite, and trying to get users listed per-site. So
I don’t want to have amr-users display network-wide users. I’ll just
be using to display a “member directory” on each individual sub-site.
Do I need the Multisite addon? Is the addon just for doing
network-wide stuff, but the plugin works fine without it on Multisite,
just for individual sites/blogs? Or is it a must-have for Multisite?

For subsite member directory, no need for multisite add on (but wait for next update, there was a funny to do with ms).

2) I’m not sure I understand the Cimy addon either. Originally I’d
used Register Plus Redux, but they stopped development on it. With
that plugin, amr-users could read the data from the plugin just fine.
Now I’m looking to continue with Cimy User Extra Fields in it’s place.
Do I need the Cimy addon for amr-users to get it to read the data from
the custom form? If so, does that mean I’ll need to do something to
convert the data from users who registered with Register Plus Redux,
to make it work with the new data from Cimy User Extra Fields?

yes you need the addon- cimy stores it’s data in own table instead of using usermeta which would have made for easier integration
Yes, you’d need to convert somehow.
Pity about no-one picking up register plus and redux. I used register plus way back – from memory iit just needed a few tweaks and I guess someone would have to look at the XSS vulnerability.

Forgot to add that someone asked about an alphabetic first letter navigation for members directories.

I thought this sounded like fun and the brain has been whirring away at it in it’s spare time and it (the brain) has presented me with a plausible way to integrate it to amr-users without too much overhead.

I may hold back the next update a day while i see if I can include that feature \ without comprising anything.

I think there might be a method where I can export user data from the current site as CSV, then import again into Cimy. It is sad about Register Plus Redux. I had paid him to add a feature to the plugin a long time ago, so I contacted him to let him know there’s several people that have volunteered to help with the security issue and to keep it current see here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/removed?replies=21. Hopefully something will happen there.

I’ll wait a few days then try out the updated plugin. The alphabetic sorting sounds like a really cool feature. Not something that’s necessary for my project, but something I’d make great use of, if you are able to add it. Thanks again!
