  • I get a 404 message on one of my blogs, when trying to view the advert. Or it takes me to the homepage.
On another blog, it all works fine.

Ive tried the ‘upadte permalink’ tip with no luck.
It doesnt even work with SEO urls off??

    Any ideas?

Yes it is a real shame that the support is non existent. Ive tried everything suggested and still cannot load images. I wish I never sent them a donation now!

@neville.2 I found support to be very good and the author has been updating the plugin regularly (last update 79 days ago at the time of this writing).

Do you have the call to the footer <?php wp_footer();?> in your theme’s footer.php?

I apologize for not always checking this board regularly but you can reach me at studio at johnnasta.com.

Neville.2, I certainly would not want to know that I have been given a donation by someone who is not happy with my product or service I have provided. If you would please contact me and provide the donation transaction ID I will go ahead and refund it.

    Hi,

I have a weird problem with this plugin. When I activate the plugin it creates the tables in the WP database, but after that, it tries to interact ONLY with my vBulletin DB (the wpdb call is not working propperly).

I have the “Complete vBulletin vbridge installed” so users are taken from the vB databse (and only 1 register/login is necessary for users) but this is not a problem for other plugins that interact with the WP DB.

    Any thoughts? Thanks again!

I have left comments using the contact form on the awpcp site and never had a reply to any of them. I waited until the planned update was released and installed it no problem with the upgrade but I still cannot upload pics so again posted a comment again no reply. ??

@caracena You may not have noticed but development of vBulletin vbridge has been discontinued. The most recent version was made to work with WordPress v2.7.x. You may want to consider Buddypress, which now works with WP v2.9.1 as well as WPMU v.2.9.1. I’m sure it will continue to be supported. Another option might be the Forum Server plugin. It’s tough to get a plugin developer to support something that is being caused by somebody else’s discontinued plugin.

@neville.2 do you have the <?php wp_footer(); ?> call in the footer.php of your theme? If you have WP v2.9.1 installed try switching to the default Classic theme and see if the problem continues. My guess is that your problem is being caused by your theme.

I am not connected with this plugin in any way but I know that it works well and hopefully this info is helpful to you.

@ss Minnow, yes I have that in my footer and header, tried unloading the other plugins and reverting to default theme, creating upload folder etc but nothing worked. The plug in is brilliant even compared to “commercial” ones and I am using it. But it would be fabulous if I could get the images to work.

    @neville.2 The one in header.php should say <?php wp_head(); ?>

If it doesn’t work w/ the latest version of the classic theme then the problem is probably not being caused by the theme.

Sorry but I don’t know the answer. Sounds like you have already searched the awpcp.com web site but check this page to see if there are any articles about image uploading that you haven’t read:

    HTH and good luck

Neville.2, the first thing you need to do in this case is figure out if there is a compatibility issue with the upload script and your server. Even if you can upload with other plugins awpcp uses it’s own uploading script and it’s possible there’s a compatibility issue with your server. I’ve had others who had trouble uploading images who changed servers and no longer had the problem, so you need to first eliminate your server as the problem then we can proceed from that point. The possible culprits could be

    imagecreatefromjpeg
    imagecreatefrompng
    imagecreatetruecolor
    imagecopyresized
    imagejpeg

If you don’t have each of these functions the uploading will die at the point of trying to create the thumbnail. If you aren’t getting anything uploaded at all then the culprit could be the mkdir function. If the script is not allowed to automatically create the upload folders you will need to do it manually. If the folders exist and have the correct file permissions then possibly the move_uploaded_file function is the problem.

By problem I mean, possibly your server is not permitting these functions to execute. There could be security settings in place that reject the plugin’s upload script. In that case it would be something your webhost would need to assist you with. They might need to modify the security settings.

By the way Neville.2 I’m not really sure what the details are of the problem you’re having. I’m going by SS_Minnow’s pointing you to the image uploading page and assuming you’re having problems uploading images.

Hi there, the new update worked well for me but I’m still having problems with the blown out font on my sidebar once the user is logged in. You can use the member access test/test to view the error on below page only. Your help would be much appreciated. https://ragdoll-kittens.com.au/kittens-for-sale/place-ad

Hi all, sorry it took so much time for me to answer.

@ss_minnow: The problem is that my forum has thousands of users and hundreds of thousands of posts so I can’t start a new forum. It is the most visited forum in the world for that specific topic and language. and no, vbulletin bridge is still in development and the version for vB 4.0 is comming up soon. I did make everything work vetween WP and vB with no problems… even the plugins that call the $wpdb object so I know there’s no problem there. The only plugin that gets confused when accessing the DB is this one so I can’t use it… but I’m looking forward to use a later version.
