Sorry for that. This plugin doesn’t support child theme yet. I will update a next release including this features.

I posted some code to your bug page, Dinesh. Hope it helps!

I’m thinking of trying this plug-in but do not understand the issue. When you say “child theme” are you referring to a secondary theme specifically to be used for mobile browsers/iphones, etc?

This seems to be an unresolved issue with WordPress plug-ins….having a mobile/iphone theme switch available. If only there were some way to just automatically switch.

I saw a page on Google (https://pelfusion.com/know-how/how-to-create-or-convert-website-into-mobile-format/) that would take a URL entered into a search form and take that typical website and just convert it to a very basic, plain list with no images or anything so that it would work with all mobile apps/browsers removing all graphics–just text and links and bare basics. Maybe an option box would be a good idea, so people with iphones or whatever could just click a box to select to have a plain HTML site?

This plugin works well for secondary theme. The problem is that it doesn’t support child theme. For example, Genesis Theme Framework uses child theme. It fails to redirect to child theme.

But works ok with normal theme structure. Like if you have Theme 1 and Theme 2. And if Theme 1 is desktop theme and Theme 2 is Mobile theme. You can select Theme 2 be displayed in mobile devices from the plugin settings page.

This plugin only detect the mobile browsers and redirect to the theme you have set. It doesn;t convert any theme structure.

For Your Information, I am working in child theme issues. We will soon have a next release for Any Theme Mobile Switcher working with child themes.

It’s a brilliant idea for a theme, since every developer and business wants a mobile switcheroo application. The next step would be to create more mobile app themes for WordPress that are attractive but very simple (like color blocks or stripes).

I’ll try it out for my business website. Please let me know when you get time to work on it more.

I developed my mobile theme for our newspaper, launched and didn’t realize this plugin had the child theme bug. Any status update or ETA of the fix? I love the ability to switch different themes for different devices.

It would be great to be able to support child themes for this plugin – please let us know when it’s ready! Thanks so much
